Hello all!

Based on our recent poll, a large number of you feel confused about how projecteducate works and how you can become involved. Therefore, this quick guide is being posted in the hopes to help clarify things! Please let us know if you have any remaining questions, and let us know if this helped at all!

This has nothing to do with anything I just wanted some Jon Snow up in here.

What exactly is Project Educate?

Let's make it real simple: Project Educate is a group focused on YOU, the DA community. It is an opportunity for Community Volunteers and deviants to work together on producing content on an education or awareness level to the DA community on topics such as art mediums, art techniques, art history, DA related topics, and so much more! It's a group that will hopefully allow for you to learn and discover new things but also gives you a chance to share your expertise and knowledge with a large audience. Beyond that, we also host contests and challenges, and invite members to reach out to us about any contest or challenge they'd like to run with our help (we help promote it and can often help provide prizes as well).

How does Project Educate work?

There are three main options at projecteducate:

  1. A "week" = From Monday to Friday a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 articles go through the group as part of a planned week which could be on any topic/theme such as Traditional Art, Art History, Art in the Professions, Portrait Photography, etc. These are organized in tandem with CVs and community members. Anyone can apply to organize a week and we'll help you through it. Apply by filling out this survey!
  2. A "weekend" = A total of 4 articles go up between Saturday and Sunday. Weekends are ideal for narrow, very specific topics (such as Photoshop Tips Weekend or Landscape Painting Weekend) or even for broader topics where you only have a limited amount of writers available to produce content with you. Weekends are a great way to give PE a shot for the first time, we encourage newbies to send us a note about any topic they'd like to do a weekend on! Apply by filling out this survey!
  3. One-off articles = anything from contests, challenges, chat events or just a one-off article such as a tutorial or educational article that you want to do outside of a planned week/weekend. This is a perfect chance for you to promote your content through PE in a quick and easy fashion. It is also a perfect plan for those of you who might want to run a contest but don't have a big watcher-base or might not have the means to offer big prizes.

But...how do you get involved?

Well, there's a lot of different ways you can get involved:

Offering to write articles for an upcoming week:

When we have a week that is being planned and we need more community members to get involved by contributing articles, we will most likely post an announcement through the group with a title such as "Community Week: We need YOU" or something along those lines. Those journals will invite you to send us a note with any article/contest/event idea you might have. The best way to be notified of these announcements is by becoming a member of projecteducate!

We also add all scheduled weeks to our schedule, so by visiting our front page you can see if there is an upcoming week scheduled that is really interesting to you. Let's say you look and see that a Digital Art week is being planned, you could then simply send us a note to inquire as to whether we are looking for contributors for that week, and/or pitch us an idea!

Offering to help organize a week or weekend:

If you wanna run the show with the help of a CV, you apply by filling out this quick survey! to organize a week/weekend on a topic of your choice. We will see if it is possible and get back to you with an answer asap. Don't worry, you won't be all alone to figure this out, we pair you up with at least one CV to help you through it all!

Pitching us ideas for contests/chat events/challenges:

Send us a note with your idea/proposal and we'll see if we can make it happen! Here is a super quick suggestion box survey you can fill out for us!

In the interest of being quick and simple as the title of this journal suggests, I'm going to stop here, but I urge anyone who wants to learn more to check out this journal: Project Educate: Open Positions - Apply Now!
Also please again do not be afraid to ask any questions you might have!
