I think that the changes dA made have a lot to do with more members becoming inactive. The Daily Deviations getting less and less attention is a huge problem, I think. It used to be something people tried to achieve, and it gave them motivation to be more active, and without something like that there's missing something on this site.
Yes, for sure. There are people I've known for years who have deactivated or quit logging in (and in some cases actually passed away), which is a bit depressing.
Having sudden changes on the site without any warning is frustrating. There should at least be a warning along with instructions how to use a new format instead of making members fumble around to figure out things on their own. It is time waster when there are already other things to do on the site.
I've managed to step down from six groups, so I'm down to 19 on my sites, which helps with time.
There is generally a lack of enthusiasm these days around the community. I have no idea how to make any difference.
Not really, but I do spend less time on DA overall than I used to.
I've had a very weird couple of months and have been working on a time-consuming project during January, but I'm preparing to get back to regular online activity next month. I do get the vibe you're talking about though and am trying to react to it by reaching out and asking other people how I can help or encourage them. I posted a poll earlier today that I noticed was really similar to the one you (I assume you?) posted at CRPhotography so it looks like there's some positive action going on
It hasn't been an active, conscious decision, but I have been trying to spend less time online, and more time in the "real world". Of course, the people here are just as REAL as the ones I rub shoulders with day to day, but I do know that I can find myself pouring many hours into my time here, or FB, or even my personal artist/blog site.
So, trying to spend more focused time, making comments on the work of friends, rather than just wandering around looking at "stuff".
I am logged in all the time, but I don't have much stuff to do here. Also,I don't really have much time anymore, I'm going to work (well not now but in a month I should be) plus I'm saving few grades at highschool. Sometimes, when we're at computers in ICT lessons, I suggest DDs instead of doing what I should do, and I feel good about myself!
Do you feel like dA is not much as visited as before? It feels a bit inactive. I have over 7k watchers but I don't really feel like they are all there. I feel a little that dA is getting inactive which is sad because I still love this site so much!
Me neither, I tried to encourage my watchers or something, but it doesn't really seem to work. I used to be in contact with a lot of people here on dA, but I barely speak to them anymore :/ Glad I am not the only one with this feeling!
