Let's celebrate DA's 15th Birthday with an awesome questionnaire Heidi has invited us to fill out! Staff and CVs will be doing it, so you should too! Just copy the survey questions and answer them from your own perspective! Also, tag your journals #DeviantArtistQuestionnaire and other DA tags like #DA15 #DABirthday or whatever else floats your boat! I'll be featuring and mentioning artists and kinda free-styling my way though this as I'm on a sugar high and only slightly coherent right now.

How long have you been on DeviantArt?

I actually just realized that I missed my 6th year anniversary! I joined on July 11th 2009, on this account that is. I had one account before that, that was a typical young teen account of terrible photography and lots of dramatic journal ramblings  It's only been 6 years, yet in some ways it feels like so much more! And in a positive sense. It feels as though I've been a part of so many things within the community, in that the community has offered me so many amazing opportunities to grow as an artist and as a person. In 6 years I have changed so much as a person. For the better, as I was a total and complete mess in 2009. DA has seen me through my best and through my absolute worst, and I will always remember the ways in which it helped me grow up.

What does your username mean?

Describe yourself in three words.

Crazy. Sarcastic. Passionate.

Are you left or right handed?

Right handed yo!

What was your first deviation?

Oh God. Really? I have to do this? Oh please no...I honestly don't even want to look :stare: I definitely deleted most of my old stuff out of shame though :lmao:

To provide some context, this is my best friend, and we were drunk/hungover for Halloween celebrations.

What is your favourite type of art to create?

Digital photography is what I'm "good" at and enjoy; portrait photography more specifically. I am by no means an expert, or an amazing photographer, but it's definitely my favourite art to create. However, I am fairly obsessed with traditional art, and love painting in my spare time. I just don't post photos of my paintings cause I'm not really good :P

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

I'd love to delve into film photography. I wish I had enough knowledge and patience to immerse myself into that style of photography, and see what happens. There's an art to film photography that you just can't produce with digital photography.

What was your first favourite?

I'm actually pretty neurotic and went through my favourites to remove/clean out most of them. I have weird issues with keeping old stuff sometimes. But technically speaking, my first favourite right now is:

The Permanent Rain by C-PRO
I'm a sucker for traditional art, like I said. I'm also a sucker for beautiful women crying...for whatever reason :o

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Definitely photography, with an emphasis on people/portraits. I'm guilty of browsing almost solely photography since I'm a CV for that gallery. However, I do love to venture outside of my "comfort" zone once in a while. I especially started doing that with my Voyage to the Unknown feature (Voyage to the Unknown: Master Journal), where I explore a gallery I don't tend to browse much, and create a feature based on what I find! I invite anyone who reads this to join in on the project and venture through the unknown here on DA! My favourite other galleries to browse are Traditional Art, Artisan Crafts and Fan Art.

Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

That's really really hard and almost impossible to answer :giggle: I cannot really answer the question, but rather try and tweak it a little bit and reply accordingly. Some of my favourite deviant artists, based on their body of work, are zemotion, Ophelia-Overdose, Avine, ABrito, FlexDreams, HelloDearThomas, and many many more. This is just a brief list of some of the artists I find myself following the most often.

Fiori by Ophelia-Overdose  Metalicious by Ophelia-Overdose  soul of ocean II by Avine  Ophelia by Avine  Phuong My Spring/Summer 2015 III by zemotion  Motherland Chronicles #32 - Ea. by zemotion  Argentum I by FlexDreams  Beauty Kristina 3923 by FlexDreams

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

There would be a lot of people I'd add to this list! I'd like to meet moonbeam13 of course, because who the hell doesn't wanna meet the badass woman who makes all the magic happen? But really, it'd be brilliant. I'd like to meet many members of the CV team, such as morbidman187 so I could be a rude bitch to him in person and steal his candy, or isthisthingstillon, though I think if we met up the world might just end because we'd fuck shit up pretty bad, and also his husband might try to kill me for trying to steal his man...maybe? I don't know, but it'd be a meeting to remember, and as long as he doesn't go butchered French on me, he might survive. Kaz-D and I must meet at some point, I don't think there's anything we wouldn't talk to each other about, it'd be great to meet the girl who's helped me through so much since I transferred to cover General Photography.

I fucking MUST meet Nyx-Valentine because my life will never be complete otherwise :stare: seriously woman, I wanna squat on your couch while you make me awesome marshmallows and other magical things you're so good at. I'd love to meet Kendra-Paige and Queen-Kitty cause I think it'd be pretty badass to collaborate on a photoshoot together and get to talk about portrait photography, gossip about things model do that drive us mad, and rant for hours. pearwood I must meet some day as well, because there's no way I can get by without meeting one of the people who have supported me and been my friend ever since I first joined DA! I'd also love to meet Astralseed because we have so many things in common and our personalities sync up in so many ways, I think it'd be really awesome to get to spend some time with her. I also really want to meet SophiaMarilyn because she's an incredibly inspiring human being and artist, and I'd love to finally meet her in real life after having stayed in touch for so many years. And STelari and I definitely need to meet up someday!

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

A lot of the deviants that have impacted my life were mentioned in my previous response. moonbeam13 impacted my life significantly by inviting me into a team of people that would help shape who I am and how I have grown as a person over the past year. morbidman187 has helped me keep my sanity throughout some very stressful times in my life, and helped me in ways I'd never be able to return really. 3wyl helped me find my place as a member of the CV team and helped inspire me in so many ways throughout my time on DA, she was one of the people who inspired me to become a CV in the first place. pearwood kept me motivated to keep going with photography and to keep my head up high by reminding me that everything will be okay in the end. isthisthingstillon, in the short amount of time I've known him on the basis of talking almost every day, has helped me keep myself in check and has given me very dubious advice in terms of my love life that involved some very questionable and not-so-legal actions at times. Nyx-Valentine helped me immensely when I first joined the CV team; she was an incredible mentor, and still is. Astralseed has always been there to listen when I needed advice or needed to vent about life, and she has always been incredibly helpful and supportive. hosagu has had an impact on me through his incredible optimism and positive spirit, it's unlike anything I've ever known! Anoya's passion for APN photography inspired me to try and delve into it, and see if I could learn more about APN, she might not even know this, but she's always been an inspiration to me, for many other reasons as well! neurotype-on-discord probably has no idea, but her DDs from when she was a Lit CV inspired me to try and write in English more, and see if I maybe had any writing skills on a level other than academic (quickly found out I have zero skills in writing prose or poetry in English ) Kaz-D has been a great friend to me all around, and that has definitely had an impact on my time on DA as a CV. And all my active watchers have definitely had an impact on me, as their support is what has driven me to continue with my passion for photography!

What are your preferred tools to create art?

As long as I have my Nikon D5100, my various lenses, a few other photography knick knacks, and my brain, I'm good to go.

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Since I'm a photographer this is a bit tricky as I'll shoot almost anywhere and almost any location can be inspirational to me. From abandoned houses, to magical forests, to random industrial parts of cities, or a small park, I can find inspiration almost anywhere as long as I have a good model and our creative juices are flowing and working together. When it comes to post-processing, all I need is to be in my room, in bed actually, and listening to either music or a TV show as background noise, then I'm good to go as well.

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

I have a really bad memory, to be honest. Many memorable things have happened on DA, but it's also hard to pinpoint which is my favorite. Most of my favorite memories involve meeting or getting close to another deviant, or receiving sweet notes from deviants I DD'ed. A great memory would be the day I became a CV. Further great memories has been all the love DA had sent my way; the appreciation I've received from fellow deviants. Honestly almost everything that happens on DA ends up being a great memory because they will always outweigh the more crappy moments.

I'd like to tag these guys who will hopefully follow suit and post their own Deviantartist Questionnaire!
Astralseed, AshleyxBrooke, Astarsia, Canankk, ElyneNoir, BitterBeanJuicer, GinkgoWerkstatt, phydeau, pearwood, inknalcohol, DMD-CT, Phreja, SabakuNoShi, rainylake, Rhyn-Art, nadjasybill, Sassy-Cat-Sooo-Catty, PuzzledHeartBox, Endorell-Taelos, pulbern, nosugarjustanger, SavageFrog, BokehLight.

Edit: Don't know why you're embarrassed about your old work. The photo you shared is beautiful. :aww:
